Escaping The Shadow
In running we hope against all hopes that we are capable and able to outrun that which pursues us. Never looking back we rush headlong into anything and everything that awaits our arrival. Nothing can compare to that which is hot on our heels and so escape is what we must undertake and embrace. In fervent desire we never look back.
It's true, we cannot and never will outrun our own selves.
As we bask in the sunlight of our dreams we expect that all will be well little considering the folly of the tricks and traps we have set forth. Life is a game and we are but participants within our own shenanigans. As the tune sways us to it's beat, we are compelled to carry our little selves along hoping that perhaps this time our sense of self will become paramount1.
The Universe is at our beck and call and yet, and yet as we scrape by in meager reluctance our confidence becomes shaken by something just out of our reach. As the shadow dances to our delight little do we realize that in the mirror of Life and Living there is nothing new under the sun. First it was just an innocent play full of taunting and conviction and then it 'suddenly' turns to torment and sorrow. We can have it any way which is appealing and so the demonstration reveals the cards with which we hold and play.
Is life like that? Do we but endure the cards with which we have dealt to ourselves in order to remain in this game?
Sometimes letting go is the worst possible outcome.
But here we are, playing out one thing or another and yet it all comes down to the same thing. Embracing our convictions requires that the game continue, and so it does.
In the mirror of life and living, all things are possible. So the question becomes, why choose this?
