SUPER SCIO - MY ANSWER TO IS IT DANGEROUS TO BE OUTED

I felt that I had to say something before people get the wrong impression and become too fearful.

I was outed back in June of 1999 and I continued to post intensively until the beginning of December of that year. That's about six months of steady writing.

It did reduce the excitement slightly once people knew who I was instead of speculating and being attracted by the mystery of "who is the Pilot".

Being outed did not have any other direct and immediate effect.

OSA does have a policy of attacking active critics, and they used to attack "freezoners" too back in the eighties, but in modern times, they are afraid of calling attention to the freezone, and the critics are such a big unhandleable problem to them that they tend to ignore freezone and concentrate on what they consider to be the most dangerous of the critics instead.

In other words, they can hardly keep up with Bob Minton's antics and they are terrified of making martys out of freezone practitioners, and so we have a safe period, at least for the time being.

And so this is an excellent time for spreading reform ideas within the CofS. If they do try and stop you, it will footbullet and blow up in their faces, and if they don't, then the reform ideas do get spread around. In other words, it is a win-win situation for reformers.

In fact, unless you are creating a big flap on lines at a specific org, the odds are that you wouldn't even get declared.

There is a potential loss of comm lines to some people if you do get outed, and a further loss if you get declared, however, these days you will probably find that many Scientologists will ignore those things and stay in comm with you anyway. The days when everybody rushed to write a disconnection note are long gone and much of the membership only give lip service to the harsher policies.

As for my ceasing to write, this was primarily due to personal problems.

My super weak area is the 2D and my super strong one is 3D. This isn't Scn's fault, it is just the way my case is stacked up.

I really can't bear to live alone, and yet I have terrible problems finding an intimate partner. I've spent most of my adult life living with one girl or another, and I married two of them. Up until recently, I've never even dated a non-Scientologist (I joined New York staff when I was in high school and the first girl I slept with / lived with was another staff member).

As is often the case with long term marriages, my breakup with Ann resulted in about six months of clearing my head and coming out of the old relationship. And during that time, I was writing and carrying on comfortably with life.

And at the end of that time, I went into a total tail spin because I am completely miserable without an intimate partner. Add in the classic "middle age crazies" business (I am 51) and complete inexperience with the dating scene and you will have an idea of the problem.

So my attention has been on things like learning to dance and getting stylish glasses and also on renovating the house etc.

As far as writing goes, I have been far too low toned this year and I don't want to lead anybody in a wrong direction. If I ever get through this, I will salvage good ideas from the research notes that I have been keeping and post them.

Basically, if my identity had come out but I hadn't broken up with Ann, I'd probably still be posting.

And, on the other hand, if I had broken up with Ann, but my identity was still secret, I probably would have stopped posting when I did anyway.

As it is, at least I got some new friends after my identity came out, so on the whole it was a positive action.

In fact I think that it was a mistake to remain secret for so long, because it resulted in the absense of comm lines that left me feeling so very alone.

Also, on being outed, one should post a brief bio (Safe and KP should certainly do so). Once your enemies know who you are, it is very foolish to hide from your friends.
