"About 250 years ago, the off-planet Marcabians got into the act in a big way (there had been earlier attempts by them) by authorizing secretly (without Grand Council approval) a take-over project to get control of Earth and when it became acceptable in the Galactic Community, to have it annex itself to the Marcabian system as the 8th major planet. Their clandestine agent, the infamous Xenu (see Sector Ethics Order 1A for details), took the body of Adam Weishaupt, the founder of the "Illuminati", a super-secret society which went about taking over other power groups by infiltration and economic coercion. The first big advance that was made was Xenu's take-over of a body in the Rothschild banking family so that after the War of 1812, the Illuminati became very wealthy and could in fact control many economic lines."

On May 1st of 1776, a new occultic order was formed in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, not far from Munich, by one Adam Weishaupt, then a professor of Canon Law at the University of Ingolstadt. However this was not a spontaneous creation, as it's actual origin began six years earlier in 1770 when Weishaupt, a former Jesuit priest was approached by Mayer Amshel Rothshcild to develop a group which would unite and centralize the power base of all the various occult groups.

Weishaupt spent the next five years studying and working out a plan for this new occult group. Among other things, he studied Egyptian occult practices, teachings of the Essenes, the Jewish Kabala, and the Keys of Solomon which deal with various occult rituals including the conjuring and control of spirits (see my earlier newsgroup post concerning Alan Walter entitled "That ole Black Magic", 17 Apr 02).

When the order was first founded they called themselves the "Ancient Illuminated Seers of Bavaria", and later became known as the "Order of the Illuminati". Weishaupt said the name was derived from Luciferian teachings, and means "Holders of the Light". Although it is now associated with something else, the original meaning of the name "Lucifer" is "Bearer of Light", and the darkness is considered to be ignorance or "forgetfulness".

Illuminism is now somewhat of a generic term which includes many different occultic front groups which are all fall under the banner of "Luciferic" teachings. Freemasonry in particular was heavily infiltrated and taken over by key people within Weishaupt's "Areopagite" (tribunal), or inner circle. In 1781, at the Masonic Congress of Wilhelmsbad, the alliance between the Illuminati and Masonry became official. Other groups which also fall under the banner of Luciferic teachings are the Rosicrucians and Theosophists.

The Illuminati were and are extremely secretive and use code-names for people and locations. The code-names chosen are usually drawn from classical literature and periods. For example, Weishaupt was called "Spartacus", Baron Von Knigge was "Philo", Ingolstadt, their first headquarters, was "Eleusis", Austria was "Egypt", their later headquarters in Munich (the Grand Lodge of the Orient) was called "Athens", Frankfurt was called "Thebes", etc. All of the revolutionaries of the French Revolution (Masons and Illuminists) took names based of heroes of the Roman Republican times.

Symbols and significances are very important to the Illuminist, among them the symbols which represent Illuminism itself. One of the key symbols is the flame or torch (just like the one held by the Statue of Liberty), and a glow around something called a "halo" or "glory" such as the one around the capstone of the pyramid on the backside of the Seal of the United States (shown on the backside of a dollar bill). The "halo" around something indicates that it is "Illuminated", or indoctrinated into the occult Luciferic teachings.

From Greek Mythology:

The Titans, also known as the elder gods, ruled the earth before the Olympians (a group of 12 gods) overthew them. The ruler of the Titans was Cronus who was de-throned by his son Zeus. Most of the Titans fought with Cronus against Zeus and were punished by being banished to Tartarus. During their rule the Titans were associated with the various planets.

Tartarus lies far beneth the disk of the world. Deeper than Hades kingdom of the underworld. It is used as the ultimate of prisons, unpleasent and inaccessable.

PROMETHEUS

Prometheus was considered to be the wisest of the Titans. His name means 'forethought' and he could allegedly predict the future. When viewed in terms of LTA and the Akashic Records, this puts Prometheus in a most peculiar "light". In Classical literature, he is the Titan who first gave fire to man. Fire has from antiquity, been symbolically associated with mental gifts or knowledge which distinguish man from other beasts, and thus, Prometheus himself is the original "Bearer of Light" - Lucifer - the holder of the ancient knowledge who was "thrown down".

ELECTRA - Latin spelling of ELEKTRA

Elektra was one of the OKEANIDES (goddesses and nymphai of clouds and rain) and the personification of the amber-colouring of clouds. Her sisters included the cloud-nymphai Rhodeia (Rose-coloured), Ianthe (Violet-coloured), Khryseis (Gold-coloured) and Xanthe (Yellow-coloured). She was also the wife of Thaumas (Wonder) and the mother of Iris (the Rainbow).

HOMER, the blind poet

Homer was a blind Greek poet, to whom are ascribed the two greatest epics known to man: The Iliad and the Odyssey. It is also claimed that he wrote the poem Batrachomyomachia (the battle of the frogs and mice). Little is known about his birthplace and life. Most known facts about Homer are based on legends and Herodotus' history.

From your own comment, is it not clear which group you fall in?

"I defend its right to exist.." even though you find it Stupid!

Your defense of something's right to exist is not the same as
defending that same thing's correctness, worthwhileness, and
workability. Your considering that Scientology is stupid is actually
an attack. Therefore, you fall into group one.

Certainly you are not as bad as those who seek to destroy
the Church and Scientology as you say you would defend Scientology's
right to exist, although I presume you could do without the Church.

However, one wonders just what sort of defense you would
provide to something that moves you only in a negative way.
I have a feeling your sort of "defense" would be to have those
you are defending turn the guns on themselves.

It is an anonymous post. Haven't you heard of them?

As to the need to hide one's identity, from the postings
YOU make I would think you would understand the need for
anonymity. I find your position puzzeling.
You say, "I think the church is evil" but you fear no
reprecussions for your position? Or are you just very
brave and feel that everyone should be as brave as you?
No thanks. I remember some of the torture sessions I GAVE
in my past lives and I know what evil lurks in the hearts and
hands, and teeth, and whips and chains, and hot iron pokers,
and iron maidens, and razor blades and chainsaws, and nails and
crosses of man. If you'd remember some of those sessions I
gave you, you wouldn't be so quick to question the need to post
anonymously. Ah, the smell of frying human flesh, yum-yum.

In my case, there are two groups from which I seek anonymity.
One is the wogs and the other is the Churchies. I know people
who have gotten threatening and disturbing calls from the Churchies
but likewise I have gotten threatening and disturbing calls
from the Wogs, including my parents.
Each group seems to be suffering from some sort of
rabies, the Churchies from the Immortal version, the Wogs
from the Mortal strain. Both groups need some serious auditing
on a Mark V, (Scientology E-meter). Don't try a Mark VIII, I've
heard the Churchies forgot to put an on/off switch on it;
they couldn't figure out what is was for.

Anyone who is disturbed by anonymous postings by Free Zoners
is either stupid or evil. People who insist that everything be
signed are either oblivious to the evil around them or they
are BEING the evil around them. The first group is too
stupid to take seriously and I would suggest you get them to
spot a few times on their past track when they were tortured
till they wake up to the fact that this place is not all
sweetness and light. That is if you are into helping this sort.

The second group, on the other hand, is too dangerous
to not take seriously...

You might want to notice that people
who demand that all postings be tracable are up to no good and
do not have your best interest at heart. They belong to group
two, the Evildoers. It's like the
government wanting everyone to register their fire arms with them,
ostensibly for your own good. In fact, it is in the people-
in-power's best interest to know who has guns, as then they
are free to confiscate these guns if the need ever arises.
So too, with a more precious commodity than fire arms, free speech.
I know that there are things that I will someday say
that other people would dearly like me to keep to myself lest
their evils be exposed in the process of my communications.
It is from these people that I seek anonymity.

Fortunately, there is a third group, the good guys. They
are neither dumb nor evil. You'll know them by the
truth in their words. And if you can't spot
truth, well then you are in deep shit and I suggest you get
an underground market meter immediately, pick up the cans and
find out whose eyes you have been pulling the wool over for the
last zillion years. Maybe you will find out its your own.
Nothing like a meter to help you start seeing the truth.

Prometheus

Wow! What an interesting creation by "Prometheus", all kinds of interesting vectors mixed in there. Why, I could probably do an entire post just on all the vectors in that one communication alone. This type of communication definitely requires a Marcabian-level of skill.

Among the more obvious top-level vectors we see "Prometheus" (male Titan, holder of knowledge) coming to the rescue of "Electra" (female lesser goddess of the clouds), "Electra" and "Prometheus" both using the same anonymous posting technique (hiding), and presumably, location ("earth.com").

We also see that "Prometheus" also apparently has some kind of a button on e-meters, particularly a 'superiority button' in regards electronics and technology. A more basic 'superiority button' seems to be on the subject of knowledge in general:

- Prometheus: "The first group is too stupid to take seriously and I would suggest you get them to spot a few times on their past track when they were tortured till they wake up to the fact that this place is not all sweetness and light. That is if you are into helping this sort."

Apparently, "Prometheus" isn't really interested in bringing light to others in darkness as his nome-de-plume would suggest, but rather, keeping them there.

"Prometheus" also seems to have reacted quite strongly to the possibility of the identity of "Electra" being discovered, not only from a 'protect button' point of view, but almost as if "Prometheus" somehow felt personally threatened by someone uncovering the method used to hide their identities, like he had suddenly been challenged by an equal when it came to computer systems.

We also see "Prometheus" seems to feel very strongly about the subject of anonymous posting and hiding one's identity, and touting the "reason" to post anonymously - the big bad church, and "wogs". Of particular interest is this little statement by "Prometheus":

- Prometheus: "I have gotten threatening and disturbing calls from the Wogs, including my parents."

"Prometheus" (bringer of light) also shows us his dark side, intended to frighten us into believing he is very dangerous, while at the same time restimulating previous incidents involving torture:

- Prometheus: "I remember some of the torture sessions I GAVE in my past lives and I know what evil lurks in the hearts and hands, and teeth, and whips and chains, and hot iron pokers, and iron maidens, and razor blades and chainsaws, and nails and crosses of man. "Prometheus" also tries to create an identification between those who would expose his identity and those who are out to take everyone's guns away (Nazi Germany, etc.) - "evildoers":

- Prometheus: "people who demand that all postings be tracable are up to no good and do not have your best interest at heart. They belong to group two, the Evildoers."

So, according to "Prometheus", he is an advocate of "free speech", as long as he can say what he wants to from a hidden location, and from behind an anonymous identity.

How free is that?

This is stupid and insulting. In the first place to denigrate Karen's
state of{mind as BELIEF is over stepping your own knowledge of the
situation as Karen may very well have perfect CERTAINTY of her own
memory. It has become socially fashionable amoung the really decadent
and degraded to consider all memory questionable. But if you are
sure that you ate breakfast this morning, you can also be sure
you ate breakfast 1000 years ago.

The main problem with remembering your own past lives and deaths,
is not remembering all the great people you were or all the horrible things
that others did to you, but remembering what YOU DID that you regretted
and wished had never happened. This is the only reason, IMHO, that
anyone has any trouble with past lives, mainly they have a few confessions
to make. People who can only remember being burned at the stake are
using it as a justification for having invented the process in the first
place. You see if they can complain about all the horrible things done
to them, they dont have to feel so bad about all the horrible things
they did to others BEFORE AND AFTER.

The end result of regret life after life is becoming a mortal
with no memory at all. Its a cop out. Most of them know it.
THEY DON'T WANT TO BE IMMORTAL and in the words of Percival,
during the inbetween lives experience where everyone has to
confront and feel all the pain they have ever caused to another
being, most people would rather be in Hell forever rather than face the
light of beauty that reminds them how far they have fallen.

So let's ask why these mortals are so loud in their denials and
demands for proof. It is only because they are afraid that you might
actually have some. They know you are immortal, they want you to
think you arn't. Perhaps they have fallen for their own game, but
its mainly a game of denying past track guilt.

For example perhaps you can't remember that breakfast you ate 1000 years
ago because you ate your mother.

We can see above, some interesting parallels with "Prometheus":

Homer alludes to himself as being among the "Immortals", and others who cannot remember that 'they have tortured others' in their past lives as being "Mortals", a play on the "Game of the Gods" theme:

- Homer: "People who can only remember being burned at the stake are using it as a justification for having invented the process in the first place. You see if they can complain about all the horrible things done to them, they dont have to feel so bad about all the horrible things they did to others BEFORE AND AFTER."

- Prometheus: "Ah, the smell of frying human flesh, yum-yum.

"

Homer brings up Percival, another character from classical/esoteric/Arthurian legend, a knight who sought the Holy Grail, comparable to Parzival or Parsifal of Teutonic legend which ties into the Knights Templar, ancestors of modern Freemasonry, who were also in search of the Grail under the Temple of Solomon in Jeruselem in 1118.

His rough quote from Percival is very reminiscent of typical Illuminati themes, and again reminiscent of "Prometheus":

- Homer: "most people would rather be in Hell forever rather than face the light of beauty that reminds them how far they have fallen."

Here we see beauty and light associated with knowledge (Lucifer), and the idea of a "fall from grace".

- Homer: "The end result of regret life after life is becoming a mortal with no memory at all."

This is also very reminiscent of the Marcabian "Dead Forever" punishment wherein the person's memory is "wiped-out" using heavy forgetter implants.

And here again we see signs of a superiority button and apparently considering himself among the "immortals":

- Homer: "So let's ask why these mortals are so loud in their denials and demands for proof. It is only because they are afraid that you might actually have some. They know you are immortal, they want you to think you arn't."

Now if we examine the header from Homer's post, we find some other interesing things:

This is the first public newsgroup post I found from Homer, and it is actually about three months before the Prometheus posts on ARS.

This post was sent to sci.skeptic, alt.paranormal, and talk.religion.newage, none of them having to do with Scientology. The "New Age" religions are intended of course, to fall under the banner of Illumisim, or Luciferic initiation.

"No one will enter the New World Order unless he or she will make a pledge to worship Lucifer. No one will enter the New Age unless he will take a Luciferian Initiation."

Editor's Note:

The following material was sent to me in September of 1989. I
wanted to post it to the net but held back for many reasons until
recently. There seems to be an audience for this stuff, possibly even a
needful audience, so here it is.

The original was a live session recorded by J.J. and transcribed by
her to paper. I received a Xerox along with her introductory letter.
Her letter and the transcripts were scanned into a Mac with an Apple
Scanner, transferred over to a mainframe, edited there to correct
spelling and scanner errors, and formatted in a readable form. It was
split into 12 parts and posted to the net.

Remember that you can have direct awareness of Immortality, past
lives, whole track and that the universe is made of consciousness and
not matter, energy space and time and still think that all this
channeling stuff is a bunch of Malarkey. Where there is true magic,
there are lots of beings pretending to have magic when they don't.

You don't have to believe every word you hear or read, this posting
is no exception. Belief is for losers. Only Perfect Certainty is of
any worth. Those who are certain they can't be certain of anything are
lost. For they are no longer self aware or aware of their
consciousness. Self awareness and awareness of consciousness ARE
CERTAINTY and provide a standard for certainty. Anything less that 100
percent pure perfect certainty is belief and self delusion.

Human beings are a composite of many beings, many smaller ones
called elementals, and many larger ones for each of the senses. There
is of course the primary controlling being (YOU), the fallen angel so to
speak who is inhabiting the body and calling it HIM or HER. Silly. You
are IN a body, you are not a body. Imagine someone driving around going
'I AM a car!'. You would lock him up immediately. Or send him to a
planetary insane asylum like Earth.

When a being dies, this composite of beings splits up and disperses
to many different sites. Many of them keep traces of the personalities
they have been through the ages, especially the last life they were
involved in. They can operate through other people while in the
inbetween lives state, but they get most of their power from their host
and most of their knowledge from the forgotten knowledge and whole track
memory of their HOST. Thus the dumber the being they talk through, the
dumber their discourse. They also often claim to be people that we all
know, when in reality they were only visiting members in that being's
composite vehicle during his life. Thus they can echo the fallen
angel's wisdom and knowledge but they really don't have it. And they
can't use it anew. You can teach a monkey to drive a car, but you can't
teach him to fix a car or design a new one.

Monkey see, monkey do. Entity see, entity do.

Sometimes an entity is a really big and powerful sort, sometimes
even a lower level Deity or Demon, beings who have huge amounts of
power, but little freedom as they are bounded by Law to their duties in
the hierarchy of the Gods. These beings often know what they are
talking about and can scare the bejeezus out of you with their power.

It is even possible that you might find a true fallen angel
channeling through someone's body, but I will tell you right now, any
fallen angle worth his salt would be very much in a hurry to get a new
body and get on with his work. He usually would not be hanging around
between lives talking through others. He would leave this up to the
elemental beings who have some time to spend before they gather together
again for the incarnation of another real fallen angel.

There are Gods and Devils, Angels and Demons, and there are lots
and lots of elementals, zillions of them, and there are Fallen Angels.
Fallen angels are VERY advanced. And VERY decayed. Their highest
thoughts are an abomination in the sight of God. You know, sex, money,
school, beer, pot etc. They have lost most of their power through mis-
use and failed and refused confession, but they have tremendous freedom
and actually are on their way out of this universe, on their way to a
higher state and higher post than any of the others. If they make it
that is, many will decay so a much lower level, sub human level, before
they start the long ascent up again. All make it one day.

Death and decay are inherent in all compound things, seek ye
diligently, therefore thy salvation. -Lord Buddha.

Consciousness is not compound, thus it can not die. Projections in
consciousness ARE compound and can pass away as fast as you can imagine
them out of existence. Unless of course you are holding on to one
because you think you ARE one. In which case you have an interesting
mortal joy ride ahead of you.

Life is a holodeck. The mechanism is NOT OUT THERE! The mechanism
that provides the projection is inside us all and is called SOURCE.
From this springs God, Gods, Devils, Angels, Demons, elementals,
universes (projections) and Fallen Angels.

Me and thee are Fallen Angels. Most Fallen Angels believe
themselves to have lived but once and are Mortal, being made of the meat
they think they are. Boy are they wrong. But there is no telling a
rising (or sinking!) God the truth.

Mainly they don't remember CHOOSING to take on a body before it was
conceived and when they do, they aren't too sure they want to continue
to remember. It helps to have a confessor around. A 12th degree Master
would be nice. But if all you got is your neighbor or your girlfriend,
that will do.

Mainly they don't remember CHOOSING to FORGET. What can I say, you
want proof? Right. What proof did you leave behind you now? You
closed the door and threw away the key. Someone else may have to hand
it back to you.

I will tell you the key. The WAY IN is the WAY OUT.

Your memory is like a door. You slam the door closed and wonder
why you can't pull it open again. If you push it closed MORE, the way
you did the first time, it will start to open and you will remember why
you closed it in the first place.

Its like your CAPS LOCK button. You push it down once and it stays
down. You try to pull it up you get nowhere. You push it down again
and it comes up. Your memory works the same way. Replication of the
effort to forget will open the memory up. Don't waste your time looking
for proof. DO IT. When it works you will know it is right. Not
before.

Anyhow, there IS proof, but you can't shove it down someone's
throat who totally doesn't want it. You know, Sceptics and company.

They have to find it out for themselves along the path they
themselves set up eons ago. It is a matter of courage, majesty and
foresight. There is great wisdom in their path, and PERFECTION, no
matter how dumb it may seem to us now. The dumbest drunk is a God in
drunk's clothing. Spit not on the down trodden, as you will be doing
what they did, and may become as they have become, when you come around
to caring again.

So anyhow you can take this channeling stuff with a grain of salt.
The message is clear even if immature. You probably can discount claims
that Napoleon is talking though, as the elemental is just having fun
with you. Listen with your Heart, not with your Mind. If you must
listen with your Mind, do it right.

Love is something you give, not something you get. You feel love
because you are giving it, not because you are getting it. You are
unhappy around others not because they don't love you but because they
won't let you love them, the way you need to love them to live and to
grow.

The answer is to rearrange your reality a bit, get your slate
squeaky clean with a THOROUGH WHOLE TRACK CONFESSION, and continue to
love no matter what. It's not a problem with God, why is it a problem
with you?

Once again we see some very interesting parallels to "Prometheus" and Illuminism in general.

- Homer: "Human beings are a composite of many beings, many smaller ones called elementals, and many larger ones for each of the senses."

Homer's description of the composite of beings comprising the "I" of most people is very interesting indeed, having a decidedly esoteric or occultic slant to it. The term "elementals" as used in occult circles refers to "lesser beings" usually associated with nature:

Elementals is the term used to refer to beings who are beginning a course of evolutionary growth, and who thus are in the elemental state of growth. In general the term refers to beings who are below the mineral kingdom in the evolutionary scheme. Their existence is universally recognized in folk-lore under such names as fairies, elves, gnomes and suchlike, as mentioned earlier. But they are best understood as forces in Nature rather than as beings having miniature or ethereal human shapes.

A Scientologist would certainly not agree with the idea of nor use the term "elementals", but an occultist or illuminist most certainly would.

- Homer: "There is of course the primary controlling being (YOU), the fallen angel so to speak who is inhabiting the body and calling it HIM or HER."

Again, we see the repeating theme of a "fallen angel", the very foundation of illuminism.

In an earlier paragraph, Homer states the following:

- Homer: "Remember that you can have direct awareness of Immortality, past lives, whole track and that the universe is made of consciousness and not matter, energy space and time and still think that all this channeling stuff is a bunch of Malarkey. Where there is true magic, there are lots of beings pretending to have magic when they don't."

In this paragraph, we see specific Scientology terms being used such as "whole track" and "matter, energy, space and time" showing a knowledge of Scientology in addition to occultic and illuministic doctrine. However the last sentence again has a decidedly occultic flavor.

Homer (or is it Illuminism?) also seems to have some rather interesting (or confusing) ideas:

- Homer: "There are Gods and Devils, Angels and Demons, and there are lots and lots of elementals, zillions of them, and there are Fallen Angels. Fallen angels are VERY advanced. And VERY decayed. Their highest thoughts are an abomination in the sight of God. You know, sex, money, school, beer, pot etc."

Here Homer tells us that "fallen angels" are very advanced and and at the same time very decayed. A contradiction in terms to the average person, but to the illuminist, this is simply yin and yang, opposites contained within the whole (the very basis of a GPM).

Homer also tells us that there are "Gods and Devils, Angels and Demons, and there are lots and lots of elementals", the standard pantheon of the occultist, and he also tells us that the highest thoughts of a "fallen angel" are "an abomination in the sight of God". I suppose the only question would be, "Which God?" since Homer just told us there are multiple "Gods".

In a later paragraph however, Homer tells us the following:

- Homer: "The mechanism that provides the projection is inside us all and is called SOURCE. From this springs God, Gods, Devils, Angels, Demons, elementals, universes (projections) and Fallen Angels."

So according to occultic/illumistic teachings, each of us HAS the SOURCE of "God, Gods, Devils, Angels, Demons, elementals, universes (projections) and Fallen Angels" INSIDE us, but it is apparently (according to them) something else THAN us. And this mysterious SOURCE (which is inside us) also apparently made "God".

Homer also tells us that "Me and thee are Fallen Angels", but he also said that the highest thoughts of fallen angels "are an abomination in the sight of God". My what interesting ideas he has of self and others.

Homer's final statement before the beginning of the channeling transcript is:

- Homer: "May the Lord of Light be with you."

The "Lord of Light" is of course "Lucifer", the cheif deity of Illuminism, and the first of all "fallen angels".

Subject: Prometheus and Electra - Part III

In Part I of this series, we explored the historical origins of the group now known as the Illuminati, and the classical Greek origins of Prometheus - bringer of light (illuminism), and Electra - goddess or nymph of amber colored clouds and rain.

We also examined the first posts on ARS by the newsgroup identities "Electra" and "Prometheus", we saw that "Prometheus" came to the rescue of "Electra", and that "Prometheus" was a strong advocate of anonymous posting and stated that people who wanted posts to be traceable were "up to no good and do not have your best interest at heart. They belong to group two, the Evildoers."

The title "Sir", as also used in classical practice, was the title bestowed upon a knight, for example, "Sir Galahad".

You may also recall from my earlier posts, that the Knights Templar were the predecessors of a number of secret societies of today, including of course the Freemasons which were infiltrated and taken over by Weishaupt's Illuminati back in 1781 in Wilhelmsbad, Germany.

It is unlikely that someone who has never played a violin in his entire life and knows nothing of violin music could claim to make violins as well as a true master. All the good violins of the world were made by people who could play them and appreciated the reason for playing them.

I have been using E-meters for 20 years both Solo and otherwise, and they have saved my life more times than I care to admit. I kind of owe one to the Old Geezer, you know what I mean? Volney Mathison too.

It takes LOVE of a product and a subject to produce well in that subject.

Yes there is some variability due to the design and the quality of people making them.

Churchies hold the subject of Scientology in more contempt than you, do they just haven't come up to having the honesty to admit it yet.

Well an E-meter is like an integrated circuit or a polio vaccine. If it doesn't work properly, a plane can crash or a person can die from it. Thus if there is any doubt as to its itegrity, it should be destroyed or fixed. Burned is just my poetic way of describing it.

You assume that E-meters are simple mechanical toys with no useful function anyhow, therefore matters of pride, expertise and professional know how in what they are used for is unimportant.

You may also feel that Scientologists as a whole are so stupid and dumb that they would never know if they had an inferior piece of equipment in their hands in the first place.

That's probably true for Churchies.

But if you are going to market any item you need to check out the potential market for that item, the nature of the people who will be paying you good money for it and their propensity to come back to you when things go wrong. People will always look for the best deal they can find, and if they find someone with more knowledge and good feelings about their subject selling E-meters they are more likely to go to them. Even if they have to pay a premium for the good vibes.

You can't turn a profit selling a product with one hand and giving your customer the finger with the other hand.

In any case no Scientologist in their right mind would buy an E-meter from anyone who held Scientology in contempt, and so the case is moot, because you are now quite out of business as far as E-meters are concerned.

In my last post, we saw that Homer Wilson Smith is beginning to look an awful lot like one of the people behind the original Prometheus and Electra posts. I ended my last post with one of the points I had raised within it, still hanging:

In examining some of the posts from that time period, we see that "Prometheus", "Electra", and Homer Wilson Smith (among several other key people) were very strong advocates of "anonymous posting", and tried repeatedly to get others to do it as well.

But before we look at the anonymous posting aspect, let's look at a few more parallels between Homer, "Prometheus" and "Electra".

How much worth can you grow up with feeling about yorself if your mother doesn't even want to stay around long enough to enjoy your manhood? You are left with no reason to live, especially when at 4 you know your father will be dead in 5 years because he is already so old he can barely walk. Above, Homer has altered the tone scale at -6.0 and -8.0 by adding an association to bodies. -6.0 is Sacrifice, not "Sacrifice to bodies", and -8.0 is Hiding, not "Hiding in a body".

Homer also tries to make an inverted association between hiding and being anonymous (-8.0 on the tone scale) and exteriorizing (approx. +8.0 on the tone scale); further, he insinuates that those who are against anonymous posting are so because of their fear of exteriorization (which sometimes restimulates previous deaths). Quite a piece of work.

Thus we see that Homer Wilson Smith was one of the primary driving influences in the facilitation of anonymous posting on both newsgroups - A.R.S. and A.C.T.

It was this ability (anonymous posting) which then enabled a handful of agents to run their various scenarios and operations on the newsgroups, while hiding behind a variety of anonymous posting identities, appearing to be a large number of disrelated people all agreeing on the same points, and appearing to reflect the opinion of "the public" at-large.

And in this final entry for this part in my series, we see Homer telling everyone how "superior" "Electra" was for being able to post anonymously when very few knew how to do it, but in so doing, tells us that he also understands how it was done.

Homer should know, having been (among other things) a senior programmer at one of the nation's four supercomputing centers funded in-part by the DoD's Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA).

Personally, I think Homer is just tooting his own horn because no one else did.

We can also see in the following, the impetus for Homer enabling anonymous posting for others who did not have his skill level, nor access to computer systems such as he had at Cornell.

In August 1991 we had just come back from 100 hours of auditing with Filbert. I was still just barely able to crawl across the floor from my bed to the bathroom, to puke in the toilet, but I was doing better in life and looking around to see what I could salvage of my future.

One of the things that happened was we bought a couple of personal computers for our business and got connected to the internet sort of by force of change at Cornell.

One day I was 'surfing' the alt.groups and purely by accident I came across alt.religion.scientology. A jolt kind of went through my spine, a mixture of fear, jealousy and excitement. In trepidation I signed on and began to read what was there.

What I found was endless noise and bashing with hardly a defense by the Church in sight. I really wanted to post something in return but I was terrified out of my wits, not only of the Church, but also that all my wog contacts that I worked with would finally find out I was a Scientologist. I had managed to keep it a secret from them for 8 years, and I was not prepared to ruin it now.

So I kept quiet and eventually signed off the list in disgust. It was JUST bashers talking to each other. How sad.

A few months later, around November maybe, I signed back on to see what was going on, and there was some discussion between bashers and Churchies so at least someone was defending Scientology, but as usual the Churchies were making greater asses of themselves than they were worth.

But I continued to read, always one keystroke away from telling these bashers where they could put it.

Then one day out of the blue came a posting from vfz@world.com <mailto:vfz@world.com> or some such thing, a clearly forged address. It was signed Electra, and to this day I remember what she said.

She said (from memory),

"There are 3 kinds of people in the world.

Those that love Scientology and love the Church (Churchies).

Those that love Scientology and hate the Church (Free Zoners).

Those that hate Scientology and hate the Church (Bashers).

Which are you?"

I would add that there is a fourth group,

Those that hate Scientology and love the Church (Upper management)

Apparently Electra was posting anonymously via various 'outlaw' backdoor methods that were well known to the internet community but were sort of non trivial to implement. Her posting and method of entrance electrified the entire atmosphere on the group and things have never been the same since.

I want to go over just what Electra was doing in some detail because it is important to the history of what happened and will also give you some insight into the growth of more conventional anonymous servers that everyone uses to this day.

Both mail and usenet news use special protocols to convey their messages from machine to machine. Just like when you telnet to another machine and logon using telnet protocols, machines can telnet to special ports on other machines where rather than getting the familiar logon prompt, they are presented with the mail or news server.

Mail works with a protocol called SMTP (Simple Mail Transport Protocol) and news works with NNTP (Network News Transport Protocol.)

NNTP is not hard to use, the manuals documenting its various commands and procedures are readily available and in fact any one can telnet to various machines that take news and actually talk to that machine's news server by hand if they know the right commands.

This is not something you are not supposed to know, its not even stuff you are not supposed to use, in fact there is a group called alt.forgery that is openly devoted to how to use the SMTP and NNTP protocols to send and receive anonymous mail. It's called forgery in the lingo because the usual way to send anonymous mail is to give the receiving news server on the remote host a false header containing your forged name and machine name including the message you want to send.

Since the machines that hand news back and forth do not check the accuracy of the headers, anyone who knows how to talk SMTP directly to a receiving machine can essentially hand it any message with anyone's address in the header, and in fact people often do this as pranks or malicious mischief. The most useful purpose it serves though is not to come across as someone else to get them in trouble, but to create a fictitious name and return address for yourself that no
one can trace.

As I said learning how to do all this is no small feat, but a number of shell scripts have been written that do all the work for you, you just hand the script your message, and it links up to the NNTP port of your nearest machine, creates a false header of your choice and sends it. These are in common use in the alt.porn binaries groups where people submit girlie (and not so girlie) pictures all the time using anonymous headers.

Apparently Electra was well versed in all this and she used
Electra@vfz.anonymous <mailto:Electra@vfz.anonymous> to identify herself. I presume VFZ stood for A Voice of the Free Zone.

You got to remember that this was long before anonymous servers came into being that made anonymous mail easy, painless and available to the masses.

Although anyone could 'forge' an address using a direct connection to an NNTP site, very few knew how to do it, so it was kind of a big deal when something like this came across the net. It meant the person posting anonymously was serious about what they were doing and probably knowledgeable in the ways of the internet.

I am going to present a few more technical points for history's sake and then we will get on with the rest of the story.

Most machines that act as NNTP sites, which means they are running news servers and are available to receive news from other machines, also have a list that details exactly which machines in the surrounding world are allowed to give them news. This limits the number of machines that can connect to them to feed them news. Most machines don't want to get news from just anyone. So they have a list of who is allowed to connect to them and if your machine isn't on that list it won't accept your connection attempt.

As usual in the unix world, such things are often left in a default state when the operating software is first installed and unless the system administrator explicitly sets it to what he wants he will find himself operating under the default state of the software.

The default state for NNTP software is to allow EVERYONE to post news to your machine. ((This is not true with innd)). The system administrator has to know about a special control file that NNTP uses to limit who it is willing to receive news from, and he must set it up to limit who can send his machine news. A lot of admins either do not know about the file or they choose to ignore it figuring it will never be any trouble to them.

Thus if you are a person who wants to post anonymously you have to find a machine that will accept your effort to connect to its NNTP port. Since MOST machines have their special files set up to limit who can talk to them, it can be hard to find a machine whose NNTP ports are still open to the whole world.

This kind of knowledge is so valuable in fact that those on alt.forgery jealously guard this data in secret files that they only share with others that they trust not to be a jerk about it. This is because if too many people start to use an open NNTP site, they may increase the load on the machine or otherwise piss off the sys admin with inappropriate or even illegal postings and thus get that site's NNTP port shut down to general use.

Now most of the time people don't complain about anonymous postings, they WANT their porn to come on through on alt.porn, they WANT the latest dirt on the Clinton's to come down on alt.dirt, so in fact many machines have anonymous postings going through them all the time and the sys admin never notices and never takes action to close down the NNTP port. As long as people don't abuse the port, no one cares.

Other sys admins know damn well that anonymous postings are going through their system and they leave the NNTP port open on purpose, either because they believe in the principles of anonymous postings or they want the porn too. THESE systems are the most valuable, because even if someone complains to such a sys admin about anonymous postings going through their system, he is likely to say "So what?" and tell them to take a walk.

On the other hand a sys admin that is seriously worried about 'who is posting what' through his site, can take steps to trace anon postings coming through his machine once he knows to look for them, assuming that more come through once he is alerted.

Each posting that comes across has a Path: line in its header that shows the names of all the machines the posting has traversed to get to you. Anyone reading a posting can check the Path: line to see where that posting came from and how it got to your site.

The very last name in the line is the machine the posting was originally sent FROM. The next to last name is the machine the posting was sent TO, and the rest of the names convey the further machines the posting was passed on to before it got to you. Since each machine that gets a posting adds its name to the BEGINNING of the list, your own site where you are reading the posting will be the first name in the Path: header.

There is no way to forge the path line except for the very last item which of course is the machine you are posting FROM. The machine you are posting TO assumes that the person doing the posting is honest and takes whatever name is handed it as the name of the machine being posted FROM. So people make sure to hand over some non existent name, and that way the original posting machine can not be traced.

However the machine that the person is posting TO puts its name right there on the path line and that can't be changed or forged. So if a forged posting comes in that they don't like, the first thing people do is contact the sys admin at the machine that was posted TO and tell him to start looking out for anon postings coming into his system.

If he chooses to pursue the matter he will get himself involved in quite a lot of work.

He has to turn on special logging software that logs every transaction coming into his machine, which often numbers in the tens of thousands, and he has to search the postings one by one for the anonymous name that the person is using assuming he isn't changing it wildly every time.

If the sys admin catches the posting, he can easily see what machine the person is SAYING they are posting from which is a forgery, but he can also look at the exact packet data that will tell him the actual machine it really is coming from. This all takes an enormous amount of time and effort. He still won't know WHO is sending the data though because that information is not contained in the packet data.

Once the posting has been fully received by his machine, the original packet data is lost and the opportunity for finding the name of the real machine it was posted from is lost, so this really has to be done in real time.

In any case, he may never find out exactly WHO is sending the posting, but if he can catch a posting coming in AS IT IS BEING POSTED, he can know which machine it is being posted FROM, and then by communicating with the sys admin of that machine he can find out who was on at that time and who might be making such postings. If the complaint against the anonymous poster is serious enough, the sys admin of the posting machine can be talked into searching through all the files of all users who were on at the time to see if he can find the posting
that was posted, which of course would locate who posted it. There are also posting logs on the machine the posting was posted from, and if the times in those logs match the times the posting was received at the other machine, then it can be assumed that that was the person who sent the posting.

People can and have been traced in this fashion, but its a LOT of work for both sys admins and you really have to piss someone off to get that kind of attention.

However tracing efforts do happen and if you are posting important or controversial material you can get kind of worried about who is trying to track you down.

For this reason people who are posting serious material often take to changing, every couple of postings, which machine they are posting TO, which makes it real hard for any particular sys admin to catch postings coming in, because by the time they are alerted to watch for them, the poster is already posting to another machine. The problem however is FINDING such machines with open NNTP sites willing to take postings from just anyone, because they are rare and far between. So constantly changing the machine you are posting TO is a real pain.

Thus people who are worried about being traced usually don't get into long winded communications with people, as every posting they make opens the door to be traced if some sys admin is on the alert for them. They post what they need, and they get the hell out of there and let things cool off.

So it was within this highly charged atmosphere that Electra was posting into a hot bed of natter and criticism from really vile, crass and mindless folks most of whom have left never to be heard from again, thank God.

A few of these bashers however were incensed at Electra's anonymity, they apparently considered it a threat to their personal freedom. Electra explained in great detail, as you have seen, why she was posting anonymously, she explained the dangers involved in criticizing the Church and her experiences with it, but these few bashers just wouldn't have any of that, and they insisted that she show herself or be branded a coward.

One of them went a bit further.

Somewhere just after Electra posted EXM-29, the following letter arrived on a.r.s from one Nick Papadakis at MIT. He was the news admin for a small site called mintaka at MIT university, and he had received a private e-mail from one Scott Goehring, one of the more vocal bashers attacking Electra.

Scott in fact seemed, from the tone of his attacks on Electra, to be almost hysterically driven to distraction by Electra's postings and anonymity. He just couldn't stand the fact that he couldn't shut her up, and so he wrote all the news admins of the various sites that Electra had used to post anonymously to, telling them their news site was being abused by Electra's anonymous 'forgeries' and if they were of a mind, they should do something about it.

You might ask how did Scott find out which machines Electra was posting to?

Although no one ever found out where Electra was posting FROM, it was easy to tell where she was posting TO because that was contained as the next to last machine named in the Path: header in the postings themselves.

A typical path line would say

Path: lots of stuff ..... !mintaka!world.com

Electra was posting FROM world.com TO mintaka, which then passed it on to endless numbers of other machines to get to the rest of the world. World.com was a forgery and didn't exist, mintaka was quite real.

So anyone reading the posting could tell where she had posted TO, and in fact some people originally thought that world.com was real too. No doubt they tried to finger Electra@world.com <mailto:Electra@world.com> to see who Electra really was, and of course found out that world.com didn't exist.

They then complained about how they had been 'fooled' and how dishonest and deceitful Electra had been to use a pretend name. There was a lot of indignant complaints about Electra's 'forged' name and how she was trying to fool everyone etc. So she changed her name to simply Electra@vfz.anonymous <mailto:Electra@vfz.anonymous> so that at least no one could complain about the treachery.

Electra explained very calmly that she had no intention of fooling people or making them think her address was real, she explained very carefully that she didn't want to 'forge' anyone else's name, or fool anyone, but only to use an anonymous pen name for her own protection.

It turns out that the people who screamed and yelled the most bitterly about how deceitful and underhanded Electra's anonymous postings were, were the very people who had the most knowledge of anonymous postings through their own involvement in alt.forgery! This I checked out for myself.

Anyhow, Nick worked as the news admin at mintaka and received Scott's letter. He saw fit to respond to the letter and repost his response plus Scott's letter to the a.r.s. newsgroup publicly.

Now you have all read most of what Electra had posted to a.r.s, because I have reposted it as EXM-1 through EXM-29. There may have been some small exchanges that Electra chose to not send me for reposting, but what I have reposted is pretty much what she originally put on the net. You can judge for yourself whether Scott Goehring's description of her material fits it well.

Anyhow, Electra took all this in stride and a few weeks later she posted 9 more postings in one day, probably to avoid giving the tracers any time to catch her act. She posted them through mintaka as before probably figuring that since Nick had stood up for her before it was safe to continue posting through that site. She wrote a letter to Nick thanking him for his strong stand for freedom of speech, which you will read in EXM-30, and she called for the creation of a new
news group devoted to the Free Zone.

Nothing ever came of that call for the new group, and Electra was never heard from again.

I personally checked the NNTP port at mintaka after Goehring's letter was posted to the net and it was still open which meant that Nick had decided to leave it open. And Electra did use it one more time in her last 9 postings. But then I checked that same port again many months later and it was closed. It is possible that the tracers had gone above Nick's head to his bosses and gotten THEM to get Nick to close the port.

The pressures towards silence in this universe are tremendous.

So that is Electra's story as I remember it and have been able to piece it together. I kept Nick's letter for posterity, hoping someday to be able to live up to what he had done for me. As I said Electra's postings meant a lot to me, and Scott Goehring's attitude and actions incensed me no end, but there was little I could or was willing to do about it at the time.

It was only a LONG time later that this little dream of Electra's started to foment in my mind as I began to regain my strength and nerve from my auditing, mostly of her material.

I remember making my first postings to a.r.s., practically scared out of my wits, kind of pretending to not be myself, but using my own name. When I lived through the week, my car didn't blow up, my house wasn't bombed, I became more confident and started to post more on what my real feelings were.

One day I received a disk in the mail without a return address. I opened it up and plugged it into my computer. It had the Electra Material on it. There was no note, no instructions, no explanation, no nothing, just the postings.

To my unconstrained joy I found that Electra HAD continued to write after she had left off at EXM-38, (I thought she had been taken out by the Church) and she had seen fit to send the whole series to me. I have spent the time since reading and rereading them, studying them in every detail, and auditing the hell out of the processes and concepts that she gave me. The entire series called ADO-1 through ADO-10 came directly from her material as I gradually made her material 'my own'.

After that though the little red disk sat on my desk for a LONG time while I considered long and hard what the future of a chicken might look like.

When I finally saw what was at the end of that trail, I saw I had a job to do, and I did it.

The rest is history.

I couldn't have done it if the material hadn't worked.
