Music Lovers corner Author: Journeyman Posted: 2001-11-21 19:52 I kind of want this thread to be dedicated to what music people are listening to, and how it effects them, so that perhaps I can show some things I consider beautiful, and learn of some new treasures I don't currently have in my musical library. I am currently listening to a great deal of Marcy Playground, a fairly new band with it second album out, called "Shapeshifter". It is psychedelic rock, and there is a particular song I would like to share the lyrics to. Here we go: OUR GENERATION- John Wozniak "Are you a child of the Free To Be You and Me Generation And are you in tune with the world around you I am a child of the Free to Be You and Me Generation And I am with you in being in tune We shall bring change to this place Listen to the whistle of the planet twirlin' through space Singin' la la la la la la to the human race (She says) I believe that I am the flower of life, the Earth And the ocean, oh oh I believe I feel the power of light, vibrate All around me oh oh I believe you are the children of the one Great Spirit, oh oh Are you a child of the Free To Be You and Me Generation And are you confused with the world around you I am a child of the Free To Be You and Me Generation And I am with you, in being confused Children, children can you hear it? Listen to the riddle in the melody by the Great Spirit Singin' la la la la la la, there's nothin' to it (He Says) I believe I am the flower of life, the air And the sunshine, oh oh I believe I am the power of light, the motive For the Universe, oh oh I believe you are the children of the one Mother Earth, oh oh" The melody is simple, and beautiful Check it out: I don't know who to compare it to. A bit like Nirvana, some have said, but without the violence inherent in their music. Here's one more song, to give you some flavor: BYE BYE- John Wozniak Red velvet loveseat from olden times There's nobody on it but me Everyone's cryin' they're caught up in games Me, I'm as happy as I've ever been So, bye bye my big blue marble Bye bye my spatial spectral Bye bye all Bothisattva'd Red velvet animals swim in black tea There's nobody up here but me And every mistake I make comes back to haunt me Still, I'm as happy as I've ever been So bye bye, my big blue marble Bye bye my spatial spectral Bye bye all bothisattva'd Bye bye (Encore) Sadly, these guys talk about using heroin a lot in some of their other songs, so it isn't light feeling music, but it is beautiful in a forlorn, lonely and evocative manner. Whatcha got? Author: virginia Posted: 2001-11-22 04:11 What's in here.. Oh, it's the "white ranger", the white pr (that has a black propaganda covert agenda) thread and post maker! Oh Bruther..
