I have only recently entered the discussion space of the internet and
find myself appalled at the stupidity of the inter-reactions regarding
Scientology.

As I see it there can be 2 starting positions:

1) There is the possibility of a workable technology of the mind.
2) There isn't the possibility of a workable technology of the mind.

Scientology, as presented by the Church of Scientology, is not
perfect.

It is, however, the honest attempt of a man whom I have met and very
deeply respect to create a technology starting with premiss 1.

All I see from this newsgroup is a vast attempt to enrich lawyers.

LRH started Scientology with a purpose. All the people that I see
vilifying LRH and Scientology seem to have failed in that purpose.

I was in the Sea Org for 10 years and met LRH. He is not GOD. He never
said that he was. All he said, in Dianetics, was that he created a
bridge. He asked for help in creating a better bridge.

I left the CofS in 1982 because I disagreed with the way the
organization was being run. I also felt that my own case was being
grossly mis-c/sed by Ray Mithoff and David Ziff.

Since then I have never lost my belief in premiss 1: There is the
possibility of a workable technology of the mind.

All I see in this newsgroup is controversy.

What the hell happened to the idea of a technology of the mind and
spirit which LRH was trying to create!

I know that 3 sets of people will read this:

1) Those who are attacking Scientolgy.

2) Those who are working with the CofS.

3) Those who are using Scientolgy outside of the CofS and are for the
most part keeping a very low profile.

I apologize to those who revere LRH in saying that he occasionally
overstated results. As an example, when I did OT3 (in 1974) it was
stated that after OT4 one would be exterior with full perception. This
issue was subsequently revised. I have, in Scientolgoy, met 2 people
who demonstrated good exterior perception. I am sorry to say that
most, myself included, did not reach that state.

From personal observation LRH did not stably attain that state.

I was on the flagship Apollo in 1974 when, 60 miles out of Charleston,
we received a radio message saying that LRH was to be arrested on
arrival. If LRH had the perception that he claimed could be attained
on the OT levels then he wouldn't have needed the radio to discern
this.

I saw a man who believed in what he was doing. I saw people
temporarily attain very high states of being.

From Scientolgy I regained the power of my own postulates temporarily.

I lost that ability later.

I have talked to many others who had similar experiences.

The road to TRUTH is a long and hard road. I do not believe that LRH
had all of the answers yet I see that he had a lot more than anyone
else I have come across.

As a field auditor, working independently of the Church, I failed many
times. I could get results from some people. I failed with others. LRH
explained why in "Field auditors become staff" HCOPL. Basically one
needs an organization and a complete org board.

I have read the tech volumes through several times and the OEC once
and the R&D volumes once.

I have noticed that almost all of the contributors to this forum have
virtually no knowledge of these.

I entered Scientology with the desire to work with a technology that
worked. Scientology does  work. I still audit people despite being
declared an "SP". I get good results with some. If there are people
that I feel I cannot help, due to my lack of expertise, then I feel
ethically bound to say so.

The people I failed with were because, as a field auditor, I had
difficulty enforcing ethics.

LRH realized that this was the primary difficulty with field auditors
and wrote many issues about missed withholds.

From my own experience of 14 years of auditing outside the CofS I can
only agree that all ARC breaks stem from missed withholds.

In writing this I realize that I am opening myself to possible attack
from the CofS.

However, I will not publish any copyrighted materials of the CofS as
Dennis Ehrlich has done. I do believe that that is wrong. The
technology is too powerful for use outside an ethical environment.

The major crime he committed, in my opinion, was to release a lot of
garbage that wasn't what LRH wrote. It contained only a portion of the
actual levels. It was sufficiently changed to guarantee that it
wouldn't work. So, Dennis, you are suppressive.

Getting results on the upper levels depends upon destimulating the
case sufficiently so that the Pre-OT can face the horrendous charge of
the NOTS case. If people are not very well set up for it then they
will either get very ill or very misemotional or very unreal.

I do not agree with the prices that the CofS are charging.

I think there are some technical flaws in Scientology as used by the
CofS. However  I think that they do want to improve the existing
conditions of life on this planet.

I have seen too much criticism from people whose reach is little more
than that of an ant or an entity. If you want to vilify LRH then you
are suppressive. If you want a technology of the mind and spirit then
please do not attack a man who honestly tried to create one. If you
think he was wrong then offer constructive criticism after studying
his writings.

Yes, many Sea Org members have used oppressive and criminal tactics.
There is enough documentation of that.

But let us not get lost in why. Out tech and out admin have occurred.
To someone who has run OT7 honestly a few weeks in the chain locker or
an overboarding is a minor experience. There is a planet to correct.
Lawyers make money for personal reasons and accuse others of doing so.


Basically, I believe in premiss 1 above. Whether I work toward that in
or out of the organizations has yet to be seen.

Please knock off the useless criticism and work toward a better
society.

I appreciate communication of a constructive nature from people in or
out of the CofS.
