A Symposium For Peace. From: ralph@hilton.org (Ralph Hilton) Subject: A Symposium For Peace. Date: 1999/06/08 Message-ID: <375e61f8.340958555@news.telekabel.at>#1/1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 X-Complaints-To: news@telekabel.at X-Trace: news.chello.at 928805170 212.17.110.140 (Tue, 08 Jun 1999 03:26:10 MET DST) Organization: Chello Austria MIME-Version: 1.0 Reply-To: Ralph@Hilton.org NNTP-Posting-Date: Tue, 08 Jun 1999 03:26:10 MET DST Newsgroups: alt.religion.scientology This might be a last ditch attempt at a proposal for peace. Perhaps an international symposium could be formed to discuss controversial issues about the CofS. If this were to really happen then the CofS could resolve conflicts with antagonists fairly easily. It would take about a week. 10 representatives from each of : 1. The Sea Org 2. Scientology public who have never been on staff. 3. The Freezone. 4. Critics from A.R.S. The first 2 days would be just getting to say hello. Lots of individual conversations. Everyone would openly talk about their disagreements with various others. On the 3rd day we could get more formal and discuss things in small groups. Then we could start to put together agreements about how Scientology, the Freezone and the Critics could all work out the future of things. Problems are not resolved by fighting. They are generally resolved by communication. My proposal is that David Miscavage head the S.O. group. I don't think that it would have credibility without him. Russell Shaw is the only long term public Scientologist on the newsgroup so I would suggest him as the best person to work out the scn public representation. From the critics I would suggest Rod Keller as the Chairman as he has continually represented a balanced position. I would take the FZ Chairman position. I would take along Alan Walter, Enid Vien, Ken Urquhart, Mike Goldstein, Tommy Thompson, Pilot (anon), LR1467 (anon), Bernd L?beck, Sylvie Steiner, Christine Norstrand if they wished to participate. Each person would be free to bring along one other person of their choice making a total of 80 people. I would ask the following: 1. No Reporter Trs or anything like it. An honest communication from each individual. No drilling or whatever. Let each person communicate as they will. 2. That this is directed toward resolution. Not Conflict. I would ask that people not bring others along who want a fight. Choose people who have a real honest intent to communicate and resolve the problems. 3. A full transcript of the meetings should be available on a.r.s. given someone willing to do it. 4. No uniforms. Just casual clothing. I'm sure that there will be objections and modifications. If David Miscavage doesn't read A.R.S. then I would appreciate it if this were forwarded to him. As a statement of goodwill I am willing to provide to the CofS details of an E-Meter that reads twice as fast as the Quantum. The needle settles after a read 15 times faster. If the conference happens then they can use this freely. -- Ralph Hilton http://Ralph.Hilton.org Freezone International: http://www.fzint.org |
