CLEAR-L
Alt.clearing.technology is served by a listserv called CLEAR-L.
CLEAR-L is a one way gateway to a.c.t, which means that postings which
go to CLEAR-L will be posted to a.c.t. but not visa versa.
CLEAR-L is meant for quality pro clearing technology postings
only, no discussion and no noise.
Instructions for how to sign up for CLEAR-L are at the bottom of
this document.

If I speak with AUTHORITY it is only because I am AUTHOR.
The following is an act of creation by Homer Wilson Smith who is
fully responsible and accountable for its contents. He acknowledges
the help of many people and lives in this creation.
This document is in no way meant to imply that the views
expressed herein are the views of all Clearing Practioners, or the
views of the people partaking in this list, or that anyone must hold
these views to be part of this list.
I wrote it, I posted it, it is an expression of ME.

HISTORY AND JUSTIFICATION OF THE NEED FOR THIS NEW GROUP.
Clearing technology is a coalescence of the methods, codes,
practices and techniques used by Clearing Practitioners around the
world who have left or have been ex communicated from the Church of
Scientology, over its 40 year history of terrorism and deceit.
Clearing technology is a growing collection of experimental and
established therapeutic techniques designed to help people locate,
contact, confront, relive (revivify) and release otherwise hidden
moments of suppressed anguish, pain, anger, fear, sorrow and apathy
resulting from loss, death, departure, reversal and other trauma in
their lives, with the resulting healing of their body, heart, mind and
soul from self imposed psychosomatic conditions created by the being
to deal with the trauma.
Clearing technology presents itself as neither a science nor a
religion, but rather a collection of practical techniques by which a
person can improve their own life in their own estimation, by handling
in a permanent fashion, self imposed barriers of body, heart, mind and
soul.
Clearing is a technology in the sense of a body of techniques.
Technology 2.) the application of knowledge for practical ends,
as in a particular field, e.g. educational technology. (From Greek,
technologia, systematic treatment.)
Technique 2.) the body of specialized procedures and methods used
in any specific field of endeavor, 3.) technical skill; the ability to
apply procedures or methods so as to effect a desired result. (From
Greek, techne, art or craft.)
Both definitions are taken from The Random House College
Dictionary, Copyright 1975.
Clearing technology was developed over many years, starting with
the work of L. Ron Hubbard, founding father of the Church of
Scientology, who himself added and drew upon the work of many great
pioneers in the field of the mind and the spirit before him.
Many different people were involved in the early work of Hubbard,
as collaborateurs and research assistants, however some of them
disagreed strongly with some of his principles and especially with his
policies regarding the formation and management of the Church.
Although it is widely considered that L. Ron Hubbard is the
founding father of clearing technology, it is also widely considered
that the behavior of his Church has brought great disrepute, suspicion
and disgrace to the name of clearing technology and its practioners,
and because of the suppressive legal strangle hold the Church has on
their particular version of clearing technology and the associated
copyrights, trademarks and tradenames, we wish to remove this group as
far away from any association with Scientology and the Church of
Scientology as possible.
What started off as a new and vital science of the mind, quickly
turned into a dark and clouded religion, filled with fear, religious
bigotry, prejudice and even criminal terrorism directed against those
who spoke out against the injustices of the organization or who
attempted to leave the Church to strike out on their own.
The Church considers Scientology Standard Technology its own
intellectual property and has extensive legal trademark and copyright
control over it, including but not limited to the terms Scientology
and Dianetics, OT (Operating Thetan), and others.
The Church is violently and fanatically opposed to independent
Scientology, the so called 'field' or 'Free Zone', and it is also
opposed to the new growth of clearing technology in a direction away
from its Scientology roots.
The Church has instigated numerous lawsuits against individuals
for practicing Scientology in the field without license from the RTC,
the Religious Technology Center, whose charter it is to look after and
protect the trademarks and intellectual property of the Church.
It is seriously open to question whether a proclaimed religion
and its practices can be protected by copyright under US law, but the
Church is in the habit of suing anyone it wants to, figuring that most
people will fold under the financial pressure regardless of the merits
of the suit.
They have also instigated many harrasment lawsuits directed at
wearing down the forces of resistance even though such law suits were
known to be false and unsupportable before they began.
Since the death of L. Ron Hubbard, clearing technology within the
Church has ceased to grow, becoming stagnant under the directions of
Hubbard himself, forbidding any new research or improvement along
clear tech lines, by religious decree.
This has caused many, who were dissatisfied with the workability
of the tech, to leave the Church, beginning small centers of research
and discovery of their own, greatly expanding and adding to the
original work.
The Church considers this independent work false, dangerous and
out of line, and not conforming to the intentions and wishes of who
they consider to be the 'One True Source', L. Ron Hubbard himself.
Not to mention a direct threat to their financial interests and
monopoly on clearing technology.
As many of these attitudes are contained in policy letters
written by L. Ron Hubbard himself, he has no one to blame but himself
for the attitude and behavior of his Church.
As much as we admire the man and the work that he did, we can not
sanction the petrification of that work that would occur if the Church
were allowed to pursue its course unimpeded.
Hubbard himself self said that the only richness there was is
understanding, and that anything must grow to survive.
At present the Church is growing only in money, power and
control, and not at all in understanding, as Scientology Standard
Technology itself is a closed canon, forbidden by decree to expand,
grow, improve, or self correct in any degree.
Clearing technology in the field is a quickly growing subject of
great richness and diversity, no longer chained by the stagnating
forces of financial interests and religious bigotry and fanaticism.
Many of the new developments in the field are completely alien to
Church technology, as the tech in the field is growing by leaps and
bounds, while tech in the Church is stagnant forever by mandate.
Whereas at first, most of the people using and getting field
clearing applied to themselves were ex members and practioners of the
Church, now many of the people benefiting from clearing technology
have never been a part of the Church, and look with horror on the
outmoded and dark age attitude of those still in the Church.
By forming this group we wish to aid in the survival of those who
would see clearing technology grow and expand into a respectable
subject, freely available and of benefit to all on a world wide basis,
independent of creed, color, religion, national origin or sexual
preference.
We also wish the subject to be openly available to investigation
by anyone interested in doing so.
There is much discussion on alt.religion.scientology as to
whether clearing technology is a cult, a science, a religion, a
science of religion, or a religion of science, etc.
Because clearing technology deals with the human body, heart,
mind and soul many would classify it as a religion. However its
methods are those of science, so others would classify it as a science
or fringe science. We wish VERY STRONGLY to leave the matter open for
debate and thus we do not wish this newsgroup to be under either the
science or religion hierarchy of the alt groups.
Clearing technology very clearly states of itself that it is
neither a science nor a religion, it is a BODY OF TECHNIQUE whose
application to oneself gives rise to long term desirable end results
in one's self, in one's own estimation.
PURPOSE AND CHARTER:
This newsgroup will,
1.) Be unmoderated and openly available to anyone with an
interest in clearing technology, including those hostile to its tenets
and practice. This group will REMAIN unmoderated, no matter what.
2.) Accept anonymous postings of any kind in general. It is
requested that anonymous posters use identifiable handles and post in
a meaningful and responsible way.
3.) Accept anonymous postings from any enabled anonymous server.
4.) Will accept anonymous postings sent to readers of the list
and reposted by them, at their discretion, with all headers stripped
off. The reposter must take full responsibility for the content and
repercussions of such postings.
5.) Will accept postings submitted to the list from those in the
field who do not have internet access via readers of the list who do.
6.) Will be archived permanently, along with important documents
pertaining to the subject. Such documents will include but not be
limited to tech, codes, definitions and addresses of practioners, or
people who desire to be contacts for clearing technology.
The purpose of this newsgroup would be the posting of:
1.) Papers on all available clearing technology, no matter how
elementary or advanced, regardless of source or origin, new and old,
including its roots, development, purposes, methods, and results.
2.) Ethical Codes of conduct such as the Auditor's Code (Clearing
Practioner's Code), the Code of Honor, or any others that are of
interest or might be written in the future.
3.) Reports on case gain and actual case histories, either
personal or with the permission of the client. 'Hey guys, last night
I ran such and such, and this is what happened, and these were my
cognitions.'
4.) Transcripts of sessions, or session notes, either personal or
with the permission of the client.
5.) Cognitions attained, abilities regained, disabilities lost
during the practice of clearing technology.
6.) Personal papers relating to experiences pertaining to
clearing technology, its theory, its world view, and its results.
7.) Supporting or detracting evidence from external third party
scientifically objective observers as to the efficacy of clearing
technology.
8.) Personal curriculum vitae regarding life interests, training
and experience with clearing technology and one's own profession.
9.) Discussion and counter discussion on all of the above.
10.) Discussion on various practioners of the tech, their
competency, the client's experience with them, the tech used, how it
worked, how well it worked, what happened, any complaints and
recommendations, including data, stories and personal anecdotes
concerning prior or continued involvement in the Church.
11.) Reports on scamsters in clearing technology, or any efforts
to use clearing technology for negative purposes or solely for
financial gain.
12.) Low hype notices by practioners of clearing technology to
let those who wish to partake of their services know what services are
being offered, where they are being offered, and how much they will
cost, including notices from the Church. Notices should contain name,
address, telephone number, fax number, qualifications, services
offered, costs and conditions.
13.) Reports on immanent threats by various agencies or people,
including the Church on clearing practioners in the field, their
tools, their practices, their persons or their domiciles and property.
Also reports on immanent threats by similar forces against the
Church itself, trying to destroy it or put it out of business. rather
than repair it or put its Ethics in.
14.) It is expressly forbidden to post to this group any
material that is both the copyrighted AND confidential material of the
Church of Scientology, that is not already in the public domain. If
you feel that the data is important, please gain a familiarity with it
yourself, and then rework it into your own words, and post your own
writings.
Remember a question or an answer can not be copyrighted, however
the complete text in which the question or answer was found can be.
If you have understood what you have read, have gained some reality on
it yourself, and can put it into your own embodiment of text, then
feel free to post it.
15.) Needless cross posting between a.c.t and a.r.s may, at the
discretion of readers, be frowned upon if it brings the need for our
group under negative scrutiny, or results in a return flood of off
charter cross postings from a.r.s. back into a.c.t.
16.) Off charter posters may, at the discretion of readers, be
encouraged to move their thread to the appropriate group. 'Why does
L. Ron Hubbard call Scientology a science when it clearly isn't?'
belongs in a.r.s. 'Prove to me that clear tech works!' belongs in
a.c.t, but they may grow old waiting for an answer.
17.) This list and its FAQ is maintained by Homer Wilson Smith,
mostly by default. Questions or complaints should be directed to me.
I am not responsible for what other posters post and accept no
liability for any work other than my own or other's work that I post.
If some one of you has as their life dream the operation of
responsibility for some part of this list or its activities, and you
feel that I have assigned all the work and the drudgery to myself,

Dear People,
I have formed a new listserv called CLEAR-L which is gatewayed to
a.c.t. For the moment the gateway is intended to be one way only,
which means that postings sent to CLEAR-L will be posted automatically
to a.c.t, but not visa versa.
This will allow those who are not able to receive a.c.t to
receive my postings and other quality pro clearing tech postings from
those who wish to share their tech and their experiences.
Discussion and flame will not be tolerated on CLEAR-L, but should
be directed to a.c.t. This is because many of the subscribers to
CLEAR-L will be using long distance, even over seas calls, to down
load their mail, and the last thing they need is a mailbox full of
noise.
CLEAR-L is for QUALITY pro clearing technology postings only.
Anyone may sign up to CLEAR-L, even if you don't intend to post,
and even if you get a.c.t. This means that you will receive in your
mailbox postings that will also go to a.c.t.
Anyone may post quality pro clearing technology postings to
CLEAR-L but it should not be used MERELY as a lazy gateway to the
group. If you need to you can use the anon servers for that. You
will need to subscribe to CLEAR-L in order to post to CLEAR-L.
If you post cow pies, endless discussion, hostile noise or pure
stupidity to CLEAR-L I will remove you. You will be given one
warning, if you do it again you are off the list for good.
I am the sole judge and only authority in this matter.

Your subscription to CLEAR-L is confidential, no one can find out
who is subscribed except myself. If you don't trust me, you are out
of luck.
You can not subscribe using an anonymous id, I wish you could,
but its not presently feasible.
Subscribing to CLEAR-L alone does not endanger your anonymity,
however posting to CLEAR-L will.
For the moment, subscription to CLEAR-L is open to the public, so
anyone can join who wishes. I will be closing it eventually, so that
all subscription requests come to me.
After one warning, if you get bounced, you get bounced for GOOD.
I have already ceased cross posting to both a.c.t and a.r.s as a
matter of course, and in the future, cross postings from me will be
minimal except where they apply.
I will however be posting most of my primary postings to a.c.t
via CLEAR-L. Of course discussion will take place on a.c.t as usual.
If the noise level on a.c.t can be kept to a minimum perhaps we
can consider making it a two way gateway between CLEAR-L and a.c.t.
I will try to entice Mayo and Flemming and his group of friends
to subscribe to CLEAR-L, so postings that you make to CLEAR-L will go
to them too. That's why noise must be kept to a minimum because they
use long distance to down load mail.
CLEAR-L will have automatic archiving of all postings that go to
it, thanks to the kind people at the University of Alberta. The
archiving I believe lasts for 6 months, at which time postings are
lost.
The CLEAR-L archives are public so you do not have to subscribe
to CLEAR-L to retrieve them.
Of course I will be keeping complete personal archives of a.c.t
which I will make available via floppy disk to those who ask for it.
I will not be archiving a.r.s.
I will be downloading a lot of material to CLEAR-L to get it into
the archives. I will be resending everything I have posted in the
last few months, plus new stuff, plus a lot of stuff from other
clearing practitioners.
If your site is still not getting a.c.t., I suggest very strongly
that you put pressure on your sys admin to accept a.c.t. If he is
accepting a.r.s, he has no excuse to not accept a.c.t. A refusal to
accept a.c.t is a strike FOR the Scientologists, and you might point
that out to him or her.
If your sys admin IS a Standard Scientologist, and he refuses to
carry a.c.t on the grounds that it is a squirrel group you might
consider taking the matter up with his superiors. Discuss with them
how they feel about a Standard Scientologist working for them who is
controlling and limiting freedom of speech on religious grounds.
For your information, as far as I can see, there are 4 broad
categories of people who are opposed to carrying
alt.clearing.technology.
1.) Those who are opposed to its name.
2.) Those who are opposed to clearing technology in general,
which can include certain fundamentalist Christians, hardballs, and
people with withholds in general.
3.) Those who are opposed to the Church of Scientology and its
nefarious reputation, and who have clearing technology confused with
the Church.
4.) Standard Scientologists (SS) who are opposed to any clearing
technology that is not Standard Scientology Technology.
Some of these people will SAY they are opposed to the NAME of
alt.clearing.technology, but some may have a different agenda.
