Face to face with Koos. From: Allen Wright <100240.2562@compuserve.com>
Christene: "Alas, that is all Koos is" Homer: "Once again I invite Wright to tell us in detail about his visit with Koos and what a wonderful high tone fellow that Koos guy is, unlike that nasty low toned suppressive Homer" OK OK, I did promise Homer I'd write this up so here it is: I live in Munich (Germany) and we had Lawrence West staying with us over Christmas. We were looking thru some ARS stuff and saw Koos post his address, which is also in Germany and only about 120 miless away from me. Lawrence and I looked at each other and said "Hey, lets check this guy out and see what he's really like!" We E-Mailed Koos, introduced ourselves and said we'd like to visit, and were invited for dinner Dec 26th. We had no idea of what to expect and made all sorts of wild predictions as we drove up the autobahn past Nurnberg to get to Koos's village. We were allowing for him to be totally crazy, wildeyed, downstat but the truth was different. He lives in a large (for Germany) modern stand alone 3 story house in a typical Bavarian village of maybe 10,000 population The door was answered by two BRIGHT kids, a boy of ~13 and girl of ~15. Koos arrived and invited us in. He's mid 40's, 5ft 10, a little overweight, "fleshy" faced with straight shoulder length hair. The instant concept was of "artist" and his white casual suit and constant cigar helped build that image. The whole family speaks very good English, and have a house rule to only speak English in the house. He is Dutch, his wife German and they met in England at St. Hill so English was their original common language. Koos has a 'air' about him, not so much arrogant as aristocratic, at least in his own home space. We were made welcome and introduced to his wife, who is German, ~late 40's, quiet, reserved and very theta beatiful. We were given drinks and tentatively the topics of conversation were opened. It turns out that Koos isn't an artist himself, he said his occupation was an "Art Promoter" but it seems the only art he promotes is the paintings his wife does. She does rather nice pixs that have a Monet-ish style, we were shown a good range of them and there were several I'd put on my walls. Koos told us his background: he is still "in" the CoS, although I understand that he has not taken any services for many years and maybe he is "declared" or at least persona non grata there. He has not done any "OT" levels and his highest auditing level is Grade 4. I did not get a clear answer on what training level he has reached. He has little or no factual knowledge of the independant scene, only what he has picked up on the ARS type newsgroups. He said he made a spiritual connection to LRH while at a big CoS event in Anaheim ~late 70's - felt he was in theta comm with LRH and has been ever since. This made a big impression on him. Lawrence and I then told our stories and we were listened to wide-eyed - especially by the kids who were present throughout the whole discussion. This was an overiding impression - they really are a family - seems like almost a inseperable group - an unusual thing in this day and age. Koos talked about his big "auditing" project they have been on for several years now - doing and posting all these sessions to the internet. I asked why he was so down on Homer, who after all was providing the Forum facilities that Koos was taking advantage of to "Declare" Homer: at this Koos shifted from his urbane image and said Homer was a real SP and then went into a CoS style retoric...blasting all those who have bad mouthed him in response to his postings. He seems particulary upset at Flemming who returned all his E-mailed sessions... This sudden valence shift was the first evidence that not all is calm in the relm of Koos. We had dinner and after we all talked again, or should I say Koos talked with Lawrence and me, and his wife and kids listened. Koos had first caught my attention by claiming (from session data) that Bill Robertson (WBR) had not written the materials in the 'Sector 9' and 'Teegeeack' books. Now I knew WBR personally, studied upper levels with him and own personally autographed copies of both of these books, so here was a clearly provable outpoint. I raised this question and showed Koos the autographed books. To his credit he was toughtful about this and asked his wife, who does all the 'sessions' how she knew it was WBR they had had in session... Koos said they would check this out. I said thayt in my experience as an OT Review C/S it's real easy to be fooled by someone you "audit' in the theta universe if you don't know some of the tricks and offered my help in ensuring the time they were spending on this "Fix up the CoS by auditing the execs, etc" project was well spent. We all parted in high ARC and Koos gave me 3 E-Meters to repair. Lawrence and I shared notes on our realities on the way back home, and both had to admit that they were generally an uptone group and very devoted to what they were doing - and seemed open to help and willing to correct as needed. But since then Koos and I have had our own falling out. I suggested some checks to try on the "LRH" and the "WBR" they were auditing - it took a long time and considerable TR3 for them to apply these tests; and when applied Koos's "LRH" failed miserably. I knew LRH personally back on the ship in '68 when I was in the SO and ended up on his personal staff as the photographer. So I posed a question from a time I was alone with LRH taking portraits, and he had strongly disaproved of my photo technique... There would be every chance that someone wouldn't remember something like this, I remember it 'cause I was in the presence of the "Boss" but to him I was prob just another staffer. But no, Koos's "LRH" remembered it well and came back with a detailed answer...that was about 180 deg off! (And Koos never did get the Q answered by his "WBR") So now 110% certain that it was not LRH he was auditing (I was 99% certain before but I'm an engineer and like to be *sure*) I did something some would consider a little naughty... I sent Koos a suggested C/S to run on "LRH", it was a mixture of NOTS and Excalibur questions (and if you know these levels you'll have a good guess at what they were) which I felt might knock Koos's "LRH" back into his true valence, but just in case I was wrong and it WAS the real LRH he would refuse to answer the Q's, as he helped author some of them and would know they weren't for him. The joke was not only did "LRH" answer the Q's just like any NOTS/Excal being would, Koos thought they were great and a big help to clearing up "LRH's" purposes and actually posted the "Wins of LRH"! So then with me really telling Koos that he was wasting his time on a fake, Koos got pissed at me and wrote a PTS declare that went to air on ACT if not ARS. We have since met again when he came unannounced to my home to collect his E-Meters I was repairing because "they weren't safe to leave with someone who was so out of ARC with him". It's all a great pity 'cause if he was higher on the bridge and following a C/S written from a trained "OT C/S" viewpoint, with his dedication he might be able to do what he wants to do, which is something I'm sure most of us would like to have happen: The CoS back in Theta hands, doing good work and not hitting people like DM, LadyV and others with Mega$$ legal attacks.
