re-set time From: Zero <pthorn1@pacbell.net> Subject: re-set time Date: 2000/02/08 Message-ID: <38A0FEBA.C2E37CE6@pacbell.net>#1/1 X-NNTP-Posting-Host: 206.170.217.238 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-Accept-Language: en Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Organization: Case Gain Inc. Mime-Version: 1.0 Newsgroups: alt.clearing.technology I have been thinking a bit lately about the possibility of re set time. It was pointed out to me recently, which I perceived with great clarity, that if one waited until say the early 2000's to do the reset, then there could not be a large time shift because the technology would not exist to support a large number of people. Therefore, it would be limited to around a century or so. The longer time ran on before being re-sat, the less distance it could be set in the past. Much as implants would lose their effectiveness after being used a great number of times, reset time would eventually be les and less effective, unless a complete mind wipe could be performed. You would also have the problem of a troublesome few that not only went along with the reset, but had no backoff on confronting death. As long as a being has no concern over being dead, he would therefore not refuse responsibility for his memory. As long as even one being was running around with memory, you would have major problems doing a complete wipe of society mind. Therefore reset time would follow a dwindling spiral of a) gradual decreasing effectiveness b) gradually increasing awareness of earlier spirals c) the possibility that some may even remember entire cycles through confront of death. Conclusion: Sooner or later a major play would have to take place to not only reset the time, but reset the direction of its flow where any sort of tech could not be developed or rediscovered that would enable the whole puzzle to be taken apart. Other dimensional players, though not directly involved in this mest line, could influence some in the game that would act directly in mest to further the illusion. If the pesky few who refused to die could somehow be ummmm... tagged, monitored, and enough power used, their memory could be wiped. As theta exists as knowingness, and memory as knowing aboutness, to a degree, memory is dependent upon anchor points, or mest. Mest can be wiped, as easily as a disk or a tape, given the correct technology. Some beings could and would respond to the generic set of implants, cc course, ot ii, gpms, etc. Others could be handled on a spiritual level, ala nots or entity clustering and so forth. Further along the path to awareness, some could be influenced by their created particles in the universe, ala Excalibur. Roughly, this would account for 99.999999 percent of beings. The small handful of several out of trillions who refused to die could to a large part be discounted because of their inherent disinterest in matters purely spiritual, eg yoga masters, samurai, etc. This would leave only a couple of "loose cannons" who could threaten the whole cycle. Considerable resources could be aligned to monitoring these, and a "early warning" system would be set up linked to a potentiality of looking in the library. If they could act fast enough, their mind could be wiped very specifically about this data. However, sooner or later, an immortal would be on guard to his memories being wiped. Also sooner, or later, he would catch them and be aware of the wipe. Even though the data was gone, possessed of a technology, it would be a rather simple manner to trace the "fingerprint" of the wipers. They cannot destroy the library. They can only hide the door. And once one knows the door is hidden, it is inevitable that the door will be located. And opened. Permanently, and for all. -- Tommy Thompson "A being is only as valuable as he can serve others." pthorn1@pacbell.net |
