criminal consequences of OT3 mis-use From: ralph@xenologics.idiscover.co.uk (Ralph Hilton) Subject: criminal consequences of OT3 mis-use Date: 1996/06/03 Message-ID: <4ov0bm$kr@news.idiscover.net>#1/1 organization: Internet Discovery Ltd newsgroups: alt.religion.scientology,alt.religion.scientology.squick.squick.squick,alt.bad.clams,alt.clearing.technology It seems to me that the heavy abuses of the CofS against human decency began about 20 years ago when Hubbard delved into the area known in Scientology as R6. I realize that many people reading this consider the upper levels of Scientology to be 2nd rate science fiction. However there are many references throughout various religions in history that concur with the phenomena of entities or whatever one wishes to call them. Whether they are what Hubbard claims they are, or whether they are a totally different phenomena that acts that way for Scientologists is another issue. The date coincidence I observe is that something went wrong with Scientology co-incident with delving into OT3. I observed in studying Scientology that Hubbard would often look for a fast solution to a problem and then export this as a complete solution. He ended up with a technology that seems to help a lot of people but only produces a small part of what was promised. Another side of this is that parts of the mind are addressed and opened up but left incompletely handled. The most flagrant example of this is OT3. For many years (from 68 - 78) Hubbard stated that OT3 completely handled the phenomena of entities. Later in 1978 he claimed to have the full solution with NOTs, then again in 1980 with solo Nots. Then later the CofS put their OT8 completions back onto new NOTs rundowns. All the time stating the lie that the technology is complete. What happened here was that Hubbard opened up an area of the mind for thousands of Scientologists and left them with a solution that contained lies. If that had been all of it the consequences might not have been as severe as they are. Hubbard compounded this action by using data from OT3 on book covers and in Sea Org insignia and structure. Whether this data is from 75 million years ago or not is not really relevant. What is relevant is that he discovered certain symbols and concepts that have a deep subliminal effect on may people. Sea Org members are continually exposed to these symbols. For those who are in Scientology and like to have LRH references on these things, Hubbard gave a taped briefing to David Ziff, who was then his dissemination aide, in 67/68. The tape recorded briefing is entitled "Symbols". In the incident as described in the OT3 story the oppressors appear to be the Galactic Federation of 75 million years ago. The Sea Org are dressed in the uniforms which Hubbard claims were worn by that organization. Imagine what effect walking around in an S.S. uniform for years would have on someone's personality. Sea Org members believe that Xenu and his henchmen were far worse than nazis yet they walk around in their uniforms. In 1968 Hubbard created the Sea Org based on incomplete research of the mind. He made a major error in doing so and could never admit it. If the Church of Scientology is to reform itself, or be reformed then the paramilitary image must be totally removed. I have found much of Scientology to be workable and helpful to people. The Sea Org, and the Guardian's Office (renamed OSA) criminally detract from the possibility of wide acceptance of those parts of Scientology which are useful. Ralph Hilton |
